There are many beautiful places in Armenia, but nothing compares to the Lori region. I find the naturescapes here to be so breathtaking. When I first visited the Haghpat monastery I felt like I was in the movie Sound of Music. I couldn’t help but want to frolic through the wildflower fields. Lori sits in the very north of Armenia, right underneath Georgia. However, since Armenia is such a small country it only takes a little over two hours to drive there. For those who are a bit more adventurous, I have been told that the white water rafting on the Debed river is quite a memorable experience. I am someone who likes to explore my surroundings wherever I am. One of the most wonderful things about living in a small country like Armenia is that it does not take long to get from one region to another, but you feel completely transported to a fresh change in scenery.
